Schedule Changes for September 23–24, 2026

Due to ongoing weather impacts and tidal flooding risks, YCSD has announced the following Class Cancellations and School Closures:

  • Wednesday, September 23, 2026: All afterschool activities and the use of YCSD facilities are canceled. Schools will dismiss at their regular time, but there will be no clubs, sports, or evening events afterward.

  • Thursday, September 24, 2026: All YCSD facilities will be closed to students and staff. All afterschool activities and events are canceled, and there will be no classes held that day.

Outside the large studio windows, realistic winter weather conditions—such as falling snow and accumulating ice—are visible, subtly highlighting the impact of inclement weather. The atmosphere inside is focused and energetic, with students dressed in branded martial arts uniforms. A digital notice board near the entrance displays an alert:

Temporary closures help protect students and staff during severe weather conditions.

Looking Ahead and Staying Safe

At this time, YCSD expects classes to resume on Monday, September 28, 2026. Families should continue to monitor official YCSD communications, local news, and weather updates in case conditions change.

Above all, please prioritize safety. Avoid flooded roadways, give yourself extra travel time once schools reopen, and check in with neighbors or relatives who may need assistance. These weather-related School Closures and Class Cancellations are difficult but necessary steps to help keep our community safe and prepared.
